We would like to extend a warm welcome to everyone visiting our Sunny
Acres Morgans website. We have been raising Morgan horses since 1980.
Our first Morgan was an awe-inspiring young stallion named Adanac's
Balios. He took us places in the equine world that we never thought
that we could go. His excellent Morgan characteristics
of versatility, solid type and superb temperament were what we wanted
to perpetuate in our breeding programme to produce a people-loving
Morgan sport horse for competition and pleasure. Thanks to our mares
and the legacy that Balios has left behind, this goal is being achieved.
We compete actively in open dressage and carriage shows and, as well,
enjoy riding and driving along the many quiet country roads around
our home. Each year we attend as well as hold many events where we make new friends and most importantly, create some excitement about
the Morgan horse!
We enjoy any
opportunity to promote the Morgan, and have participated in and
organized demonstrations at the Royal Winter Fair, equine extravaganza,
local fairs, The International Plowing Match and to groups here
at our farm. Groups such as 4H clubs, Pony clubs, seminar groups
we have sold or bred have gone on to excel in dressage, carriage
driving, eventing, team-penning, as well as becoming a member of
their new family and a best friend. The pride and love expressed
by their owners is the proof that our goals are being realized.
Although Tim is kept very busy in his work, in his 'spare' time
he is always planning, building or re-doing something to enhance
our farm and facilities while my efforts are concentrated on raising
and training our horses. We only have a small broodmare group and
focus on raising 2 to 4 foals each year in order that I can spend
enough quality time with each one. They are imprinted each day for
about 10 days and handled regularly when weaned. Many people have
commented not only on their good looks and friendly nature but also
their good manners.
